Weed Eater - The Power Machete of organery Tools

I was one of the former purchasers of the green weed eater models when they first came out over 20 years ago. The tiny green machine was a wonder, whacking grass weeds and anyone that got in my way; I was the ninja of weed control.

After all those years the tiny green machine ultimately gave it up as the power coupling for the string head broke. Able to start and run but not send power down to the string head it was retired to the old tool shelf in hopes of bringing a few bucks on ebay

LOWES

Recently I bought a new Rayobi weed eater from Lowes about a month ago and all I can say is Holy Cow this thing must have 2 hp and it is a monster. It makes the tiny green weed eater look like a child's toy.

Weed bits, dirt and rocks fly at high speed from the twin string power head on this baby. My weeds only wish they could uproot and run when I coming with the Monster Rayobi Power Weed Machete.

As flying debris are the norm protection glasses are your whole one concern when running a newer gas powered weed eater such as the Rayobi. I have a new pair of carhart protection sunglasses in wraparound style and they assuredly do the job.

The next considerable protection item is a good pair of work boots and third protection necessity is a heavy pair of jeans to keep the bits of weed, dirt and rocks from hitting your legs. Occasionally I still feel the sting of a rock or weed bits assuredly embed into my jeans so I would even say chaps to cover your jeans would not be out of the quiz, while running your new remarkable weed eater.

Gloves are elective when using a weed eater. I assuredly prefer the great grip I get without gloves and since my hands are far away from the rotating head of the weed eater there is no problem with not using gloves. If you have a remarkable newer model like my Rayobi be sure to keep your protection guard in place on your power head.

The Rayobi also came with a blade to replace the string trimmer for cutting brush. This works ok but I do not like using it as the guard that must be installed for the blade allows only for only a small whole of degrees of the blade being exposed for cutting.

This limits the blades effectiveness and tempts me to use the blade without the guard in place. I would never advise this so I just stick to the double string head for my use. It cuts most everything I encounter except the larger of the brush on my property. I usually pull these up with a chain and my four wheel drive jeep.

If you are still using one of the older models such as the old green head weed eater then move up to one of the newer larger and very remarkable units such as the Rayobi from lowes. You will attack terror into the weed habitancy and get your work done in half the time.
